Getting to Fort Collins and Campus Without a Car

Colorado State University is located about 70 miles north of Denver International Airport (DIA). Shuttle service is available to and from the airport. It is highly recommended that you make shuttle arrangements well in advance because space is limited. Many students choose to take the bus, which stops a few miles from campus. Taxi service is available to campus from the bus station. Vehicles are not necessary for easy movement around campus and within the city. Fort Collins is an easy city to navigate without a car. Alternative transportation options are plentiful and continually improving:

Bus - Full fee-paying students can ride the City of Fort Collins Transfort bus system for free anywhere in Fort Collins, and for a small fee can connect to points outside of the city. A high level of service is available to various parts of Fort Collins and campus. Late night service is available on weekends from bustling Old Town Fort Collins to campus and outlying areas.


Bike/Walk - The typography of Fort Collins is relatively flat and with the moderate year-round climate it's easy getting around by biking or walking most days of the year. Fort Collins has recently been awarded the Platinum designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community, the highest designation acknowledged by the League of American Bicyclists. CSU has also been awarded the Platinum designation as a Bicycle Friendly University, one of only five universities in the country to receive this designation.

Getting Around Campus Without a Car

Everything on campus is easily accessible within 5-10 minutes by biking, skating, skateboarding or a little longer by walking. Bike lanes and pedestrian paths connect to various parts of campus for easy access.
