The housing deposit and refund paragraph of your housing guide (which you should have received with your acceptance package) states:

  • The $350 housing deposit serves as a reservation fee and contractual guarantee.
  • Pell Grant eligible students who have completed and submitted their financial aid application can request a waiver of the housing deposit by calling (970) 491-4719.
  • The residence hall contract you sign when you move in to the residence halls is binding for the entire academic year and includes a meal plan.
  • In April of the academic year, deposits will be refunded to the University account of all students who fulfill the academic year contract or will roll over to the next contract term for those students who return to the residence halls or university apartments.
  • Refunds from your student account can be received faster by signing up for Direct Deposit on RamWeb
  • Those who break the contract will not receive refunds.
  • If a student chooses to remain in the residence halls for the next academic year, the deposit is applied to the following year.
  • To cancel your application, send a written request via email to residencelife@colostate.edu.
  • Refund Amounts Are:
    • Residence Life will refund in full deposits for students who cancel on or before May 1 for the fall semester (December 31 for the spring semester).
    • No refund is given for cancellations received after May 1 (December 31 for spring) and the day classes begin, or to applicants who have not checked in by noon the day classes begin for the semester.
